Film Trailer | Avengers: Age of Ultron
For as fun and entertaining as the films in Marvel’s cinematic universe have been thus far, one element almost all of them have lacked is a physically imposing and truly memorable villain. To clarify, this is not to say that Loki was underwhelming in Avengers Assemble, only that watching the Hulk dismantle him in 2.3 seconds (awesome as it was) felt just a little too easy.
That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, and everything we’ve seen thus far only accentuates the fact that our heroes’ titular adversary will be a force to be reckoned with. Indeed, Ultron already seems likely to go down as one of the most quotable bad guys in recent memory, with “I’m gonna tear you apart…from the inside” destined to join “There are no strings on me” in internet memes.
Overall this second trailer is perhaps less thrill-inducing than the first, with shots we’ve seen previously popping up again. Still, the new footage we were privy too is pretty damn tantalising, from Iron Man sliding into action to a brief glimpse of Captain America going hand-to-hand with a not yet fully upgraded Ultron. The big money shots were of course saved for the final seconds, and at this point you’d bet your life savings on the Hulk vs. Hulkbuster brawl being nothing short of epic.
Check out the synopsis along with the new trailer below.
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is released in UK cinemas on April 24, 2015.
